MAHPERD Annual
Scholarships
Scholarships may be given
annually to members of MAHPERD who demonstrate a professional need for
financial assistance in completing an endeavor related to the
disciplines of Health, Physical Education, Recreation or Dance.
MAHPERD feels strongly that these scholarship awards can provide our
members with another avenue for our State Association to be supportive
of its members in their quest for professional excellence.
Members may apply directly or
others may make nominations. The deadline for each respective
nomination should be postmarked no later than February 15th.
MARY
LAMPE SCHOLARSHIP
The Mary Lampe Scholarship is
awarded to professionals, including full time undergraduate and
graduate students in good standing with MAHPERD in their quest to
enhance professional/educational development. This establishment of
this award was to honor and recognize the outstanding efforts,
services and contributions of Mary Lampe, who retired from the Health,
Physical Education, and Recreation Department at the University of
Minnesota, Minneapolis.

Applicant must be a member
of MAHPERD in good standing.

Nominee must indicate in
writing the professional scholarly endeavor for which the finances
will be used

Results of the experience
shall be presented the following year at the annual state
conference.

TRISH MEEK DEVELOPMENTAL
ADAPTED
PHYSICAL EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship was
established in memory of Patricia (Trish) Meek (shown right)
and was established in 1999. The purpose of this award is to provide
a scholarship to a full-time undergraduate student pursuing
licensure in Developmental Adapted Physical Education (DAPE).
Application/Nomination
Form

At least one-half of the DAPE licensure
courses in respective approved Minnesota Board of Teaching DAPE
licensure programs must be completed prior to applying for this
scholarship.

Recipients shall provide an itemized
written financial report as well as a written summary of the
benefits derived through this experienced to the Board of
Directors at the May meeting.

Results of the experience will be
presented the following year at the annual state conference.
