The next round of Arts Courses for Educators (ACE)~Dance begins in November 2011. ACE~Dance is a professional development program that helps schools use dance in their school curriculum. During the two-year program, school teams from across Minnesota attend workshops at the Perpich Center and receive on-site coaching from dance specialists and teaching artists. School teams from across Minnesota apply for and receive grants to support their school’s participation in the ACE program.
If your school is interested in applying for this grant, now is a good time to begin forming your team. An ACE~Dance team is comprised of 3 - 5 members, one of which serves as team leader and liaison with Perpich Center staff. A team can be either school or district based. We encourage you think creatively about the make-up of your team and identify team members who see a student need for dance in the curriculum. Many team members are classroom teachers, however teaching specialists, curriculum coordinators or an administrator may be part of your team. ACE~Dance welcomes teachers who are new to dance as well as experienced dance educators.
