Like the Jump Rope for Heart grants, the Hoops for Heart grants are made available annually to public or private K-12 schools or professionals demonstrating a need for outside school funding for specific projects that will enhance the overall respective school health, physical education, recreation, or dance programs.

Applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Be a member of MNAHPERD in good standing.
- Have or will conduct a HFH event in the school year the grant is applied for.
- Indicate in writing the professional scholarly endeavor for which the finances will be used.
- Justify how the grant will be used and how the instructional program will be improved.
- Results of the experience shall be presented the following year at the annual state conference.
Grant amount: $250-$500
