AAHE Awards
The American Association of
Health Education (AAHE) Teacher of the Year Awards (TOY) are given to
teachers who are members of both MAHPERD and AAHPERD and who
demonstrate exemplary teaching abilities in respective grade levels
and health education.
Teachers selected for these
awards may also have their names submitted for recognition at Central
District AAHPERD. Central District AAHPERD then forwards its awardees
on for a possible recognition at the National AAHPERD Convention.

Nominations must be postmarked no later than April 1, 2004.
Criteria for AAHE TOY Award

Candidates must have five (5) years
of experience in the category where they are applying.

Additional Criteria for District and
National level award include:
-
Leadership in developing and
implementing or directing/coordinating effective health
education promotion programs.

Volunteer service to local, state,
district or national level organizations or at the school or
community levels.
-
Service to local, state or national
professional organizations.
-
Evidence of meritorious professional
activity in at least three (3) of the following: Innovative
teaching, publications, presentations, funded research or
programs, special projects, or other health related
activities.

Education Education Professional of the Year
The purpose of this award is
to recognize outstanding contributions by practitioners in the
health education field.
